“Your dreams are never too big. Never lose hope.” These words from Fairmont Makati’s General Manager, Bernd Schneider, perfectly captured the spirit of the day as Wish Kids Bea (17) and Micay (13) – both bravely facing kidney disease – stepped into their dream roles as chefs.
With hearts full of excitement and aprons tied tight, Chef Bea and Chef Micay were warmly welcomed into the professional kitchens of Fairmont Makati for a full-day culinary immersion. The hotel’s team of chefs gave them a tour of the impressive kitchen facilities, guided them through a chef’s briefing, and let them take part in real behind-the-scenes action, turning their long-held dreams into reality.
From whisking and plating to learning kitchen secrets, the young chefs-in-training were in their element. The experience was made even more special as they were proudly addressed as “Chef Bea” and “Chef Micay” all day long, a gesture that made their dreams feel all the more real.

After their hands-on experience, they were treated to a delightful lunch at Spectrum, the hotel’s signature restaurant – allowing them to enjoy the fruits of their inspiration as guests of honor.
The journey culminated in a special program where Bea and Micay received certificates of completion and surprise gifts: their very own sets of pots and pans – symbols of the dreams they are now more equipped than ever to pursue.
